Ahra Yang, 양아라

In the era of climate change, Ahra Yang(b. 1988) explores how humans and the environment can coexist sustainably. Inspired by nature’s resilience, like a flower blooming through the asphalt, she designs ecological systems that can resist adversity and harmonise with the surroundings. Her artistic intervention suggests a hopeful vision for the future rather than focusing on the apocalyptic aspects of anthropocentric uncertainty. 

양아라(b. 1988)는 기후위기 상황 속에서 인간과 환경의 조화로운 삶, 즉 공존의 방식을 탐구한다. 이러한 문제의식 속에서 예술을 통해 공생하기 위한 보조기구로써 기능하는 생태 순환의 환경 시스템을 구축한다. 이는 불확실하며 다변화적인 인류세적 환경에 대한 회의론, 종말론적인 관점을 지양하고 예술가적인 개입을 통해 미래에 대한 희망을 전달하고자 하는 의도이다. 특히 아스팔트를 뚫고 피는 꽃처럼 주어진 환경이나 상황에 지배되지 않고 삶을 지속하는 자연의 속성을 반영하여 모든 난관에 저항하여 주변에 적응하고 조화를 이루는 자연과 인공의 이질적인 조합을 만들어낸다.
